In 2021, the Ecumenical Institute for Nursing Professions in Ortenau gGmbH and the Institute for Health Professions at Ortenau Klinikum merged under the auspices of Ortenau Klinikum and Paul-Gerhardt-Werk Offenburg. Together, they form the basis of our training activities.
At the Akademie² für Pflege und Gesundheit (Academy² for Nursing and Health), we train around 1,000 participants annually in approximately 500,000 teaching hours for nursing professions. Our training courses range from nursing specialists to experts in various social and health professions. We also support experienced nurses on their way to becoming specialists in anesthesia or practical instructors.
With over 60 employees at a total three educational centers (Offenburg, Achern, Lahr), we offer a broad portfolio of services that promotes individual professional development.
The Academy² enables career advancement opportunities in the nursing industry and helps to take advantage of the permeability of these development opportunities.
At the same time, guiding principles and mission statements were developed by the former Institute for Health Professions in Achern, Lahr, and Offenburg, as well as by the former Ecumenical Institute for Nursing Professions.
With great foresight, a joint consultant was brought in to assist with the development process.
Against this backdrop, the core values were formulated separately by each institution and then harmonized in a coordination process in 2023.
The result is a mission statement in which we, as leaders and employees
- set out our vision for Akademie²
- make our core ethical values transparent
- address our performance-related core values
- describe our position on digital media and how we envisage their use
- explain what further developments we at Akademie² see as necessary to maintain and expand our position as a competent learning center
- reflect how we understand our specific educational mission
