Nursing professionals care for and treat people in all areas of nursing care (hospitals, inpatient long-term care facilities, outpatient nursing services, pediatric clinics, etc.). Generalist nursing training began in 2020 and replaced the previous nursing training programs (geriatric care, health and nursing care, and health and pediatric nursing). The training qualification is recognized throughout Europe.
The tasks (excerpt):
- Providing expert care to patients of all ages during their stay in the inpatient ward of an acute care hospital, a long-term inpatient care facility, or in outpatient care.
- Supporting, advising, and guiding patients in health and care-related issues.
- Selecting and implementing appropriate care measures.
At the end of the training, the nursing professional will be able to:
- Independently assess care needs, plan care measures, organize and manage the care process, analyze, evaluate, and develop the quality of care, advise people in need of care and strengthen their everyday skills, initiate life-saving emergency measures until the medical service arrives.
- Independently carry out medically prescribed measures, in particular medical diagnostics, therapy, or rehabilitation measures.
- Communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with other professional groups in an interdisciplinary manner, developing individual multidisciplinary and interprofessional solutions for medical diagnoses and care needs and implementing them in a team-oriented manner.
- 2.500 hours in various specialist disciplines
Practical training can take place in a hospital as well as in inpatient long-term care and outpatient care facilities. All three areas of application must be covered during the training. There are also placements in psychiatric and pediatric care.
The Akademie² will be happy to assist you in finding a suitable provider for your practical training so that you can get off to a good start in your training.
Upon successful completion of the training, there is the possibility of further qualification, e.g.:
- Head of Department
- Practical instructor
- Various specialist training courses, e.g. oncology, intensive care, and anesthesia
Various degree programs can also be taken, e.g. vocational education in healthcare healthcare management, or applied nursing science.
